Don't You Love the People?

Sorry for the long absence, I've spent the last few weeks moving into a new apartment and settling into a routine! I've been so tired when I get home from work that I've been super lazy about writing.

But I'm here and my favorite thing that I want to share with you is... people! Yes, very broad, I know. Let me narrow it down for you. Human beings are naturally social creatures, whether you're extroverted or not. We all have the desire written into our beings to be loved by another. Because of this, when we meet another person who seems to understand us or shares many of our likes and ideas, its exciting! Its the first step toward Adam's cry in the Garden when he saw Eve, "Here at last is flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone!". This is the thrill that we feel to varying degrees in friendship and to the highest degree when we find someone to love us for the rest of our lives.

Sometimes I just enjoy stepping back and looking at things that I never think twice about and just reveling in their brilliance. For example... every single person you pass by is a unique, unrepeatable individual with secret joys and things they're worried about and a joke they want to share. And we have the ability to go up to that person and begin discovering who they are. You can take part in another person's life! YES, its a ridiculously simple concept but it's infinitely complex. We can make friends and fall in love and experience all kinds of joy that we could never experience otherwise.

How good is God that he gave us each other? Lets not deprive each other of the gift of ourselves!
