Shafts of Sunlight

I almost don't have a topic today, I just have a great desire to write! I went Black Friday shopping yesterday... I'm still not sure how it makes me feel, all I know is I had to go to work after I finished snagging deals on boots and jeans and that I slept WAAAYY too long when I got home. Now I just feel groggy, weird, and broke. But I have on a new pair of jeans without patches or holes, so that's good right?

I'm spending time with my family this weekend (by the way, happy Thanksgiving everyone!) but before going over to their house today I went downtown. I have this spot near the river that I love to sit and have quiet time. Sometimes on my early day off I go there to have lunch, read, journal or just sit. Its beautiful. The way the light comes in and bounces off the brick is just fabulous. It's exactly the kind of place I'd love to go with somebody special and spontaneously start dancing! Haha, yes, I know, that's such a scene from a movie, but I'm serious. (see the picture? don't you agree??) No matter what I'm doing there, I always feel peaceful. Like it's one of those corners of the world where there's a little tear in the space between us and God and we just feel him so much more.

So poetry aside, its a gorgeous place. :) I get a serious restlessness for seeing new places and traveling, but having a home base like this is great to come back to! Maybe I'll do a series of my favorite places...
